Social Running

You don’t have to be an elite athlete to get involved with the Richmond Harriers. Many of our members are recreational runners. So if you’re interested in joining a running club to meet new people, grab a coffee and get fit doing it, these are the sessions for you! If you’re new to the club, we recommend starting out with the Wednesday social run and having a chat with us about training. Contact us if you have any questions.

Distance Training

We also offer plenty of sessions for competetive runners and those looking to improve their performance in the sport. These sessions are geared towards distance runners looking to improve in events from middle distance on the track all the way up to the marathon (and sometimes further!) Contact us to find out if these sessions are right for you.

Distance Training – Bill’s V02MAX Sessions

These sessions are usually held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 6:00 and Sunday mornings.

They form part of individually tailored programs designed to:
*improve / maximise your VO2Max
*prepare you for targeted events, peak performance races and PB attempts and,
*develop your psychological management of training and races.

The programs generally build up your overall running capacity (Cardio) Volume and involve a mix of faster/intense running such as hill reps, over and unders, interval sets, tempo runs, accelerators, time trials, race rehearsals and specific threshold work. They are held on a variety of terrains and surfaces (hills, flat, undulating and road, grass, track) and a variety of locations including Kew, Studley Park, MCG area.
